Cosmic Crit’s ‘Create A Commercial Challenge’

It’s that time again, time for another First Friday Fan Challenge!

On the first Friday of every month, we are asking you to help us build and shape our Starfinder world. Last month, we asked you to help us make some NPCs to fill in our world, and we got dozens of amazing submissions. Thanks to everyone who submitted, and feel free to keep those coming.

Now, we need you to dive back into the creative well to help make Absalom Station feel even more alive.

We announced this week that we will be putting together a Special Bonus Episode as part of our support for Paizo’s Extra Life charity campaign. (Don’t forget to donate, by the way!) The ‘Crit Stop’ Episode will include extra bits of character story telling, game discussion, and fun skits set around Absalom Station, in the form of a radio program.

So where does the Fan Challenge come in?

Advertisements on Absalom Air Radio:

This month’s First Friday Fan Challenge is to write and/or record your take on Commercials or Advertisements on Absalom Station. They could be for Intoxicants, Food Products, New Space Ships, Shirren Vestigal Arm Mittens, Eoxian TV shows, Aballonian Movies — anything you think might find its way onto the Info Sphere.

Each ad should be about a minute long. To submit, write out a script and we’ll act it out on the podcast. Or you can record it yourself and send us the segment as an mp3. Either way, send your submissions to the podcast at CosmicCrit@gmail.com or on our Facebook page.

We’ll feature our three favorite Commercials (along with a few runner-ups) in our Bonus Crit Stop episode. After the episode airs, the winners will also receive a PDF of the Starfinder Core Rule Book or the brand new Alien Archive when it releases on October 18th.

Guidelines for Submitting:

  • By submitting to this challenge, you give us the right to use your submitted work/piece on Cosmic Crit.
  • To receive a gift for your selected submission, you must have an active Paizo account and provide that  to us after we use your submission on the show. Please include how you would like to be contacted and credited for your winning submission.
  • You can submit multiple times, but if we use 10 of your submissions, you still only get a single gift.
  • Please don’t submit anything offensive, inappropriate for a general audience or distasteful. Keep it PG-13.

When is the deadline for submissions?

    • Patrick says:

We will pick our three winners by November 1st, 2017. But submissions can come in after that because we will more than likely run this challenge again because it is super fun

Cool, so we can re-send submissions, if and when another contest comes around? That’ll mean I can make a lot more submissions, and re-send whichever ones don’t make it for this one. That makes me smile.
